Secretary for Environmental Protection Linda S. Adams will hold a meeting/dialogue with a diverse group of stakeholders. There are a number of climate initiatives led by the administration, the Western Climate Initiative, The Climate Registry and the International Carbon Action Partnership. All are consistent with and complementary to the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. It will be essential to communicate with stakeholders and interested parties and facilitate their input into these initiatives.
To best accomplish this objective, a Climate Initiative Dialogue Group made up of diverse stakeholders has been asked to work with government officials provide input into these processes. The meetings of the dialogue group will be public and there will be opportunity for anyone in attendance to provide input.
This first meeting will focus on providing background information to the dialogue group and discussing the initiatives with the group and with the stakeholders and interested public participating in the meeting.
Secretary Adams welcomes all who are interested to attend in person or via webcast.

The Air Resources Board (ARB) will present updated emissions estimates and methodologies for the 1990 emissions level. The ARB will meet on December 6, 2007, to consider the staff's proposed 1990 GHG emissions level and approve a 2020 GHG emissions limit. The ARB is required to approve a 2020 GHG emissions limit by January 1, 2008, pursuant to the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32; Statutes of 2006, chapter 488).

October 1, 3, 4, 10 & 11 2007 - Goods Movement Emission Reduction Program
This new $1 billion incentive program is a partnership between ARB and local agencies (like air districts, ports, and transportation agencies) to quickly reduce air pollution emissions and health risk from freight movement along California's trade corridors.
ARB is scheduled to adopt Program Guidelines in December 2007 and then allocate the first $250 million in bond monies to local agencies in early 2008.
Local agencies will provide financial incentives to owners of equipment used in freight movement to upgrade to cleaner technologies.
